The only destination located in Portland’s historic Old Port district to house four distinct entertainment options in one massive two-floor complex. Whether you’re looking to rock your favorite jersey in our sports bar and enjoy a plate of wings or stepping out for the night in your dancing shoes, Asylum is the perfect spot for all groups who want a little bit of everything. Each location under our roof features full-bar service and knowledgeable and gracious staffing to accommodate all of your needs.

FIRST FLOOR

On the first floor is our state-of-the-art live music venue that features a booming schedule of high-profile local and national acts and can accommodate crowds up to 465. The space features amazing sound, lighting, and projection gear, world-class acoustic treatments and a host of other amenities to make your next show outstanding.

Across the main corridor is the Asylum sports bar with a complete lunch and dinner menu and wall-to-wall HD flatscreen TVs broadcasting all of your favorite seasonal sports and teams.

The contemporary elegance and versatility of our music venue and nightclub is also the perfect room to host corporate and private functions and can play host to wedding receptions, private parties and events, fundraisers and after-parties.

GROUND FLOOR

Through the third wing in the main entrance is a set of stairs the leads to the ground floor. After making the descent you’ll find our chest-pounding dance club dubbed by its eclectic patrons as “The Basement” and also home to Maine’s biggest retro, industrial and gothic nights. Also on the ground floor of the venue are Asylum’s administrative offices, dressing rooms, and Green Room complete with separate dressing room and shower.
